This data package contains all data needed to reproduce the figures in "Influence of Model Resolution on Simulated Extreme Wildfire Plume Heights during the 2019/2020 Australian New Year Event".
The folders Model_output_13km_enhanced, Model_output_13km_notenhanced, Model_output_40km_enhanced, Model_output_40km_notenhanced, Model_output_80km_enhanced, Model_output_80km_notenhanced include the raw model output for the ICON-ART experiments at three different model resolutions and with and without sensible heat release enhancement, respectively. Each folder contains one zipped file with the interpolated model output and one zipped file with model output on the original ICON grid. The model output on the original ICON grid has been compressed with cdo pack to reduce file size. This step has reduced its data precision; we have verified that the plots can be reproduced from the packed files.
The folder 3dwinds includes height retrieval data from the NASA 3D Wind Algorithm, which is based on Himawari-8 and MODIS Level 1B in the blue band. Access to this algorithm was granted by Dr. James Carr (jcarr@carrastro.com, https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1310-2084) and is subject to his approval.
The folder Fire_input contains the GFAS data interpolated to the different model resolutions.
