This dataset contains output from an EMAC (ECHAM/MESSy Atmospheric Chemistry) simulation covering the period from 1 January 2002 to 31 August 2019. The simulation was performed with MESSy version 2.53 using the comprehensive EVAL chemistry setup at T42 horizontal resolution with 90 vertical layers (T42L90).
The dataset consists of 27 ASCII (.dat) files containing hourly vertical profiles of meteorological parameters (temperature, pressure, density) and chemical substances (e.g. H$_2$O, O$_3$, CO, CO$_2$, N$_2$O, CH$_4$, NO, NO$_2$, BrNO$_3$, CFC-11, CFC-12 and more) simulated by EMAC. The profiles were interpolated to the geolocation of the St. Petersburg FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) station, enabling direct comparison with ground-based FTIR observations.
This dataset was generated to support the analysis presented in the submitted manuscript "Variability and Trends of Ozone and Ozone-Related Stratospheric Trace Gases over St. Petersburg (Russia)" by Virolainen et al. (Earth, submitted, 2026).
