The interviews ‘Generational Differences’ are 107 transcripts of 102 interviews with study participants from 1967 and 1968, which were conducted and written up as part of the ‘Bonn Longitudinal Study of Aging’. While the audio recordings have been largely lost, the transcripts of these interviews can be found in the digital archive of the Historical Data Centre Saxony-Anhalt. They are published in the Radar repository as digitised versions of the original transcripts as well as OCR-recognised and subsequently partially edited text versions. In addition to the individual interviews, there are overarching files for documenting the data and with additional contextual data. The data was anonymised and pseudonymised. Thematically, the interviews particularly address the perception of the parent and grandparent generation of the youth (children's generation) as well as memories of their own youth. In doing so, attitudes towards youth, life satisfaction and old age are discussed, with comparisons of the living conditions of different generations being dealt with in depth. The participants were also asked about educational practices and views with regard to their own childhood and the education of their own children. Aspects of gender-specific education are explicitly addressed.
