The Menri Kang-Bum (bskang ‘bum) is an annual ritual event performed at the Tibetan Yungdrung Bön Monastery Menri. At the same time, it is a term used as a hyperonym for the set of kang-wa (bskang ba) rituals performed at Menri Monastery. For this dataset, the umdze and monastic scholar Geshé Dawa Namgyal Kharnatsang—a monk trained at Menri Monastery—has associated with each kang-wa of the Menri Kang-Bum the short chants (gyer) and recitation formulas (skad, pronounced ké) to be applied. This collection does not present full ritual performances. Its purpose is rather to demonstrate the correct musical realization of the kang-wa in terms of their distribution of ké and gyer.
